Boston Resident Running in a Cross-Country Relay for Multiple Sclerosis

6/29/20

Ally Gosman will run 18.8 miles for 7 consecutive days to fight against MS!

Boston resident, Ally Gosman, has been selected to participate in a running relay from Los Angeles to New York City to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis(MS). The MS Run the US Ultra Relay is a 3,260-mile relay across America to raise awareness and funds to help CURE Multiple Sclerosis(MS). The relay begins annually in April in Los Angeles and is completed in August in New York City.

This year due to COVID-19, the live relay will be run virtually. Ally will run 18.8 miles for 7 consecutive days starting on June 26 representing the 188 miles she planned to run in the state of Utah as part of the live relay across America. Ally will run all her virtual miles in the Boston area finishing on July 2 at the Anne Romney Center for Neurological Diseases. She will present the center with a donation of 188 PPE masks. Ally plans to finish between 11:30 am-12 pm.

The battle against MS is a personal one for Ally. She was diagnosed with MS in May of 2018. Ally has always been active. Growing up, she played soccer, basketball, field hockey, baseball and lacrosse. Running was always part of her fitness regime, but she started increasing her miles after her diagnoses. A few short months after her diagnoses and in the midst of her first treatment, she ran the New Balance Falmouth Road Race on the Finish MS team. The Army Ten Miler followed that then a Spartan Race at Fenway, 61 flights up the Cameron Tower, 10 Miles at the Cherry Blossom Race in DC and 13.1 in the Brooklyn Half Marathon. “Needless to say, nothing is stopping me as I cope with this disease the rest of my life”, said Ally.

She will begin running 18.8 miles for 7 consecutive days on June 26 then complete her final day on July 2 at the Anne Romney Center for Neurological Diseases.
