Foley Hoag Adds Colin Kirby as Partner

Colin Kirby

Colin Kirby has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice. He will be resident in the firm’s New York office.

Kirby will focus on the representation of venture capital funds and emerging technology companies in formation, financing and M&A transactions.

"Throughout his career, Colin has advised founders and investors on hundreds of formation, financing and exit transactions," said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner Kenneth Leonetti. "Our startup and early-stage clients will greatly benefit from his significant experience. We are pleased to have Colin join the firm."

Kirby also works with brokers and investors to facilitate access to equity stakes in later-stage growth companies. He also advises boards of directors, investors, management and founders on all matters of corporate governance, fiduciary obligations, and sophisticated corporate and commercial transactions.

Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Kirby was counsel at Lowenstein Sandler. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Santa Barbara; a Juris Doctorate from University of Notre Dame Law School; and a Master of Laws degree in Entrepreneurship from Duke University School of Law.
