Draught 55, the popular bar and kitchen that has been operating at 245 East 55th Street since 2012, has signed a 20-year, triple-net lease to expand its presence in the neighborhood with a second location at 987 Second Avenue, located between East 52^ndand East 53^rd Streets in the heart of Midtown East.

Draught 55 is set to open in the three-story building in mid-2020, when they will occupy 7,750 square feet, including 2,250 square feet on the ground floor, second floor and basement, as well as a 1,000-squre-foot mezzanine. The second floor, which features striking double-height ceilings, will be utilized for catering and private events.

“The fact that Draught 55 has been operating successfully in the neighborhood for seven years, allowing them to develop a deep knowledge of the market, made them a very attractive tenant to ownership,” said Winick Realty Group Director Michael Shkreli, who represented landlord Rocky Lee Corp, the family behind which previously ran their own restaurant in the building before moving to Las Vegas and leasing the space to previous tenant Turtle Bay in 1996.

“Draught 55’s concept will translate well to the layout of this flagship space and ownership is happy to welcome them to the building,” Shkreli continued.
