A group of professional entertainers, who are also brokers and agents at Bohemia Realty Group, will be the featured act in Singer Spotlight at the Duplex, 61 Christopher Street, on Monday, December 10th, at 9 pm. Led by Bohemia’s Head of Training, Shanna Sharp, it is one of many performances featuring members of the Harlem-based boutique brokerage, which is known for actively promoting dual careers in real estate and the performing arts.
“Our agents performed at a piano bar pop-up in The Green Room at New World Stages in October,” explains Mrs. Sharp. “We kept the momentum going in November with an acoustic act called Bohemia Unplugged! at Mess Hall – Harlem. Both events have gone so well that we’ve decided to include both singer/songwriters and Broadway veterans for our upcoming evening at the Duplex, where I performed weekly as an in-house piano bar singer for a decade.”
Adds Sarah Saltzberg, Bohemia Realty’s Co-founding Principal, “Nearly 70 percent of our agents are professional performers and artists, which is something we embrace and encourage. Singer Spotlight is the latest in a series of live acts that I’m exciting to see evolve into next year.”
Ms. Saltzberg, who is a Tony award-winning actress and playwright, is considered an industry disruptor who works concurrently in theatre and real estate and encourages her agents to do the same. Her most recent work, “Getting’ the Band Back Together,” had its Broadway run last summer.
