NYC-based Matrimonial Firm Adds Partner and Associate to Serve its Expanding Client Base and Grow its Suite of Services

Rower LLC, a New York-based family and matrimonial law firm, today announced the addition of Partner Karin Lundell and Associate Shivani Grillo, a testament to the firm’s commitment to growing its suite of family law-focused services to better serve an expanding client base.

A former United Nations translator who grew up in Europe, Ms. Lundell is sought by those who seek counsel across a broad range of practices that includes tax counseling and family law. Her combined in-depth knowledge of tax and matrimonial law make her well-versed in the ever-changing revisions to federal estate and gift tax laws, as well as the various changes in New York that are gradually being implemented through 2019.

Ms. Lundell joins Rower from Pryor Cashman’s Private Client Group where she focused her practice on matrimonial matters, including prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreement negotiations, as well as trusts and estates planning, and tax law for high-net-worth individuals, charities, foundations and tax-exempt organizations.

“Karin’s unparalleled experience in tax and matrimonial law supports the firm’s strategic growth,” said firm founder Alyssa Rower. “In addition to her impressive background, Karin’s highly collaborative nature complements our approach to resolving conflicts and helping our clients plan for the future with eyes wide open.”

Ms. Lundell received her J.D and an LL.M. in tax from New York University School of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Paris. She is fluent in French and Russian.

Ms. Grillo brings expertise in high-conflict custody cases and advocating on behalf of those in crisis. She serves as guardian ad litem for at-risk children in custody matters and began her career as a law fellow with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, a non-profit organization that represents low-income victims of domestic violence pro bono. Prior to joining Rower, Ms. Grillo practiced at Miller Zeiderman Wiederkehr LLP.

Rower says, “Shivani is deeply committed to resolving cases amicably, while remaining a formidable and capable advocate ready to fight for her clients' rights if court intervention is required.”

Ms. Grillo earned her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law in 2015. She received a B.A. in political science from Boston University in 2011.
