At the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) New York annual Members Only Luncheon, 2018 president Jaimee Nardiello, Zetlin & De Chiara, presented this year’s Founders’ Award to Michele O’ Connor, PE, LEED AP, principal at Langan and director of the firm’s civil engineering practice in New York City.

The Founders’ Award acknowledges a member who has made consistent and exceptional contributions to CREWNY and embodies the organization’s founding principles of supporting other women and making a difference in the greater community.

A long-time member of CREWNY, Michele previously served as 2017 president and was also instrumental in contributing to strategic master planning for the Chapter and 2016 CREW Network Convention in New York City. Currently, she is co-chair of CREWNY’s 40th Anniversary Gala Committee.

In addition to her leadership at CREWNY and serving as a board member of the Women Builders Council, Michele co-founded Women@Langan in September 2015 and currently serves as both a corporate and local leader.

The program’s mission is to foster an atmosphere of support for women at Langan to develop a community, share experiences and form long-lasting relationships. The innovation and success of the program has led other industry leaders to consult with Michele on best practices for start-ups of similar initiatives.
