Helmsley Spear Relocates To Boston Properties’ Iconic 599 Lexington Avenue

Kent M. Swig, President of Helmsley Spear, the oldest continuously operating real estate firm in America, is pleased to announce that the company has moved its headquarters to the entire 44th floor at 599 Lexington Avenue, comprising 8,200 rental square feet.

The company’s new offices are in the architecturally renowned tower at the southeast corner of East 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue. The building is also noted for its lobby art which contains major work by the prominent American artist Frank Stella.

“I am thrilled to move our growing company to this magnificent Midtown office. As our firm expands in the coming months and years, this new home will afford us the opportunity to serve our client base in a convenient central Manhattan location,” said Kent M. Swig, President of Helmsley Spear.

The new offices have expansive 360-degree city views. The building was built by Boston Properties and completed in 1986. It was designed by noted architect Edward Larrabee Barnes and is considered one of 20th Century New York’s finest office buildings.

599 Lexington rises 47 stories with major subway line access virtually within the building entryway. The building’s tenant roster includes the law firms Shearman & Sterling, Reed Smith, and the Cowen Group, along with consultants such as Cornerstone Research and Huron Consulting Group.

Helmsley Spear was represented in house by Scott M. Bloom, Executive Vice President/Principal while the landlord, Cornerstone Research, was represented by Jared Scott London of CBRE.
