CompStak Raises $ 5.5 Million
CompStak Inc. has raised $5.5 million via sale of shares to 31 investors, according to an SEC filing. A portion of the total amount sold includes the conversion of principal and interest under previously outstanding convertible notes.
Last year, the company received $570,000 in seed funding from Matthew Grodin, Benjamin Ling, Mike Greenfield, Zachary Aarons and Expansion Venture Capital.
CompStak gathers commercial real estate information through its proprietary crowdsourcing model. The company is a product of 500 Startups, a Silicon Valley seed fund and accelerator founded by PayPal, Google, YouTube, Yahoo alums.
The company was founded in 2011 by Michael Mandel and Vadim Belobrovka.
Mandel was named 30 Under 30 in Real Estate New York and National Rookie of the Year by Grubb & Ellis and was a founding member of the world's first live-in business incubator - the e-tower. Belobrovka works as a consultant for financial institutions, including included UBS, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase.
