Vandenberg Founders to Anchor New Douglas Elliman Townhouse Division

Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the third largest residential real estate brokerage company in the United States, has acquired Vandenberg, New York City’s leading townhouse experts, it was announced today. Founded in 1990 by Dexter Guerrieri and Jane van den Berg Ordway, townhouse owners and investors themselves, the firm currently holds 16 townhouse exclusives around Manhattan totaling $150 million. Vandenberg sells townhouses city-wide, with an average listing price of $9.5 million.

“I saw the value in Vandenberg’s expertise and clientele, and knew that working with them would allow us to enhance our already leading market position in New York City’s single-family home market,” said Howard M. Lorber, chairman of Douglas Elliman Realty.

“We are thrilled to affiliate with Douglas Elliman, as we truly admire its global partnership with Knight Frank, its marketing and technology prowess and roster of top-producing agents with whom we look forward to forging close relationships,” said Dexter Guerrieri. “This affiliation allows us to better serve our clients throughout New York City, as we can focus entirely on building market share, a vision we all share,” added Jane van den Berg Ordway.

As experts in the New York City townhouse market, Vandenberg receives unparalleled trust from buyers and sellers, securing townhouse exclusives 72 percent of the time they meet with sellers. They have a vast client base as well, meeting with many owners years in advance and earning their loyalty ahead of when they list their homes.

“I have known Dexter and Jane for over twenty years and have always admired their strength in the townhouse market and look forward to welcoming them to Douglas Elliman,” said Steven James, Douglas Elliman’s Chief Executive Officer of New York City.

Vandenberg recently launched a new exclusive listing at 325 West 76th Street for $11.9 million as well as a stunning, newly renovated passive townhouse one block from Central Park at 53 West 71st Street for $13.49 million. In addition, Vandenberg boasts an East Side townhouse on the market for $6.75 million, amongst others.

Mr. Guerrieri and Ms. Ordway and their team of eight will continue to operate out of 1995 Broadway where Douglas Elliman already occupies two floors.
