HomeDeskTop Offers Cloud Platform for Home Documents

7/11/18

Offers search, task management and contractor integration

Law DeskTop announces the launch of HomeDeskTop™, a new service that organizes and consolidates homeowner documents in one place by way of a secure cloud-hosted platform.

By allowing homeowners to gather and compile data about their residence via a fully searchable and easy-to-use online platform, HomeDeskTop provides an efficient means to organize important documents and images, including material related to contractors, tax records, home projects, chores, appliance warranties, furniture costs. The program’s task feature can track repetitive scheduling jobs, such as furnace cleanings, water tests and inspections. Further, the service provider may be contacted directly from the system to schedule an appointment or order services.

HomeDeskTop can receive emails, text messages or upload scanned copies of building plans, easements, tax bills, manuals, brochures and other home information. When a homeowner sells or rents their property, the home’s documentation, minus sensitive material, may be transferred to the new owner/ resident. Because all information is stored online, it may be searched or emailed to another person. For instance, the homeowner may search for the original patio proposal and forward to a new mason.

“How often have to you tried to find the paint color of a room, the contractor who repaired the masonry, the style of patio furniture? With the HomeDeskTop, you simply search for paint or patio and the documents relating to those projects pop up,” says Law DeskTop’s Managing Partner, Charles Weeden. “Your home is your most important financial investment and tracking improvements and maintenance costs will not only to reduce your capital gains but also to increase the value of the selling or rental price.”

The HomeDeskTop service builds upon Law DeskTop’s other successful offerings including the Litigation DeskTop and Escrow DeskTop.”

Key Features:

  • Easily store and search homeowner material, including images, documents, blueprints, bills, emails, social media postings, including insurance settlements, property tax bills, the construction material specifics, appliance warranties, décor photos and other important material.
  • Insurance, banks, local governments and other service providers may email insurance forms, tax statements, utility bills and other important documents directly into the HomeDeskTop bypassing the process of receiving mail and putting the documents into a folder where they are hard to find and not searchable.

  • Set up alerts and approvals, for instance:
  • Bid comparisons for design and construction projects that can shared digitally with others;
