Mass Contracting Corp. is pleased to announce it has obtained two Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) certifications from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the New York City Department of Small Business Services (NYC SBS).

WBENC is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs. WBENC provides support and resources through the full life cycle of entrepreneurship with the goal of ensuring that women business owners have access to the education, support and tools they need to grow and succeed.

The NYC SBS Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) certification program connects certified businesses with opportunities to sell their products and services to New York City agencies. Through the NYC SBS Corporate Alliance Program, certified M/WBEs are granted access to and are mentored by NYC SBS Corporate Partners in the performance of private contracts.

WBE certification allows Mass Contracting Corp. to assist clients in achieving and maintaining their supplier diversity goals. In addition, WBE certification provides clients with the confidence that Mass Contracting Corp. adheres to the strict WBE compliance requirements and is validated by WBENC andthe City of New York.

In alignment with this certification, Mass Contracting Corp.’s Managing Principal and General Counsel, Barbra Massina, joins the Spring 2018 Cohort of the NYC Construction Mentorship Program offered by NYC SBS. The program provides specialized classroom training, one-on-one mentoring from business and construction management experts and individualized business assessments and growth plans.

“Mass Contracting Corp.’s recognition as a women-owned business both nationally and locally honors the legacy of women who have helped shape this company, ensures the success of future women business leaders, and allows our clients to benefit from the advantages of such certifications,” said Massina.
