Held in tandemwith Art Basel Miami Beach, reception hosts industry leaders at Miami Center for Architecture and Design

In tandem with Art Basel Miami Beach, DeSimone Consulting Engineers welcomed leaders in design, development, and high-rise construction to “The Art of High Rise Design” an event that explored Miami’s accelerating vertical expansion. The discussion was hosted by the firm’s President and CEO, Stephen DeSimone, and took place at The Miami Center for Architecture and Design.

The event examined the new and dynamic challenges facing Miami’s city planners and designers as high-rise developments continue to climb in Southern Florida. Mr. DeSimone offered solution strategies that minimize construction costs, mitigate building motion, and maximize occupant comfort.

Since 1969, DeSimone has played a vital role in the completion of major developments in South Florida including the Four Seasons Hotel & Tower in Miami; Richard Meier’s Surf Club Four Seasons; Faena Art District with architects OMA and Foster + Partners; Bjarke Ingels’ Grove at Grand Bay; One Thousand Museum (Zaha Hadid’s first skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere); and Moshe Cosicher’s Panorama Tower, now the tallest building in Florida.
