DeSimone Consulting Engineers has appointed Stephen Jirsa as Director of its Property Loss Consulting service in the United States Western Region. Jirsa will provide technical oversight and management of the firm’s PLC team in the region, encompassing both preand post-loss services. Jirsa will also serve as the primary point of contact for DeSimone’s San Diego, California, office.

Jirsa is an industry leader with more than 20 years of broad structural engineering experience involving evaluation, forensic investigation, analysis, and design of buildings and components. His roles have also involved seismic design and evaluation, product development of building systems, product certification and building code approval, structural and architectural performance testing, prefabricated buildings, and building envelopes/facades. He has provided engineering expertise to commercial, construction, government, military, and health-care clients.

DeSimone recently expanded its forensic and PLC services, enabling the firm to further assist existing clients, in addition to the insurance and legal communities, during all phases of a building’s life cycle.
