CBRE announced today that Steve Lewis has been promoted to lead the firm’s newly created student housing practice for Valuation & Advisory Services (VAS) as part of the team’s continued strengthening of specialty property types.
As Student Housing Practice Leader, Mr. Lewis will coordinate and develop a team of valuation and advisory specialists across the U.S with the aim of developing the platform nationally. Based in Houston, Mr. Lewis will report to R. Christian Sonne, executive vice president and national director of Specialty Practice, VAS, andMicah Beck, senior managing director and South Central Division leader, VAS.

Mr. Lewis, who joined CBRE in 1998 is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal.During his tenure at CBRE, Mr. Lewis has overseen the firm’s student housing practice in the south central region for the past 15+ years and has worked in 25 student/university housing markets. His responsibilities also include real estate appraisal, feasibility studies, rent analyses, and market studies of retail, office, industrial, multifamily residential projects for clients in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.
