GFP Real Esate Tenant Receives Prestigious Michelin Star; Cote Occupies 3,897-SF At 16 West 22nd Street


GFP Real Estate,the property manager of 16 West 22nd Street,along with building owner the Yagoda family, announced that tenantCote, New York City’s first Korean Steakhouse from acclaimed restaurateur Simon Kim, was awarded a 2018 Michelin Star. The restaurant occupies 3,897 square feet on the ground floor at 16 West 22nd Street, a 12-story, 156,000-square-foot building located in the heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron District.

The announcement was made by Barbara Yagoda, who represented the ownership, and Donald Cafero of Hudson Real Estate, who represented the tenant in the lease transaction.

Cote is the newest entrant to the starred steakhouse category in New York. The only other two members of that group are Peter Luger and Minetta Tavern.The large menu serves chophouse classics, dry-aged beef and dishes like bibimbap. Boasting both a main floor and lower-lounge level, the restaurant focuses on offering the highest quality, freshly sourced beef, all curated by David Shim, a former M. Wells chef, who was also at French temple L’Atelier de Robuchon, high-end Korean barbecue Kristalbelliand New American restaurant Veritas.

Founded in 1952 by Aaron Gural, the company originally known as Newmark & Co.
