Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), a leading supplier of Smart Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce that the Company has appointed technology evangelist Joe Surprenant, former Global Director of Strategic Accounts at GE Digital to the newly created role of Director of Sales North America & APAC and Alex Kelly, former Solution Architect and Sr. Software Engineer at GE Digital to the newly created role of Director of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships.
Joe Surprenant joins Vuzix after spending the last year and half at General Electric as the Global Director of Strategic Accounts. As Global Director of Strategic Accounts for GE Digital, he focused on helping Consumer Packaged Goods and Life Sciences companies gain a competitive advantage by harnessing IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) to drive operational transformation. Prior to working at General Electric, Joe spent five years as a Senior Global Account Executive at SAP focused on large enterprise accounts and three years as a Regional Sales Manager at Oracle focused on the development of new business opportunities.
Alex Kelly joins Vuzix after spending the last five years at General Electric in a variety of capacities including most recently as a Solution Architect and Sr. Software Engineer at GE Digital. Prior to this role he worked as an Edison Engineer at various GE Aviation facilities ranging from avionics, engine components, to additive manufacturing including roles focused on operations and process improvement.
