Douglas Elliman to Exclusively Handle Sales

Douglas Elliman announces today that six of the newly-converted and luxuriously-renovated condominiums at the historic landmarked Centurian Building are now on the market. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the famed building is located at 1182 Broadway in the heart of Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood. The 16-story former industrial building was originally converted into 39 residential rentals in 2014 by longtime owners Calvin and Maxwell Haddad of Mocal Enterprises. In 2016, Haddad converted these units into condominiums as a direct result of NoMad’s residential boom.

“Buyers are seeking opportunities to invest in what has been a stable real estate market,” explains Maxwell Haddad. “The timing and marketplace are perfect for those who want to enjoy a luxury lifestyle in a prime and valuable location. The goal of this project is to give these potential buyers the opportunity to do just that.”

Douglas Elliman’s Roger Erickson and Keyan Sanai have been named the exclusive agents for the project.

“During all my years in real estate, The Centurian Building has been one of the most remarkable properties I’ve had the pleasure of working on,” says Erickson. “Its rich past, combined with its newly modernized aesthetic make for a true quality product. I anticipate a very well received and most successful project.”

The reimagined condominiums are priced between $2 Million to $5 Million and are comprised of one and two bedroom homes. All residences feature top-of-the-line interior decor, 10' ceilings, custom moldings, radiant heat flooring and recessed lighting throughout. While completely modernized, each condominium still contains original finishes transcending the luxury and glamour of its early years.

“What sets this landmark Beaux-Arts building apart, is the intricate high-quality craftsmanship and irreplaceable detailing,” Sanai adds. “A prime example being the original copper windows which have been maintained and preserved in all of the residences. You would be hard-pressed to find another building with such unique craftsmanship of this quality so meticulously preserved.”

The Centurian Building has a 24-hour doorman, fully-furnished roof deck, concierge service, bike room, manned and unmanned elevators, and is pet friendly.
