Mitchell Salmon Joins Lee & Associates NYC as Executive Managing Director

Lee & Associates NYC LLC welcomes Mitchell W. Salmon to its retail and office leasing teams as Executive Managing Director. In addition to leasing, Mr. Salmon will participate in asset management and acquisitions for Lee NYC and its affiliates. Prior to joining Lee NYC, he was Managing Director at Garrison Investment Group ($4 billion in retail assets under management), where he developed strategic plans for the private equity firm’s national retail platform; growing the retail platform to more than 9.2 million square feet across 17 states. During his tenure there, Mr. Salmon managed more than 100 employees, adding both institutional and entrepreneurial experience to his new position.

“Mitch’s extensive experience encompasses landlord and tenant representation, commercial sales and leasing, and property acquisition,” points out Joel Herskowitz, COO of Lee NYC. “He has an impressive understanding of local and national markets and we regard him as an outstanding addition to our team.”

Mr. Salmon has worked across several asset classes. He has supervised internal teams, on-site property staffs, and all forms of third-party vendors, including leasing, management, construction, legal, marketing and municipal relations. While at Garrison, he oversaw $44 million in ground-up construction for the redevelopment of 343,000 square feet of retail space across the country.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Salmon spent 15 years at Mall Properties, Inc. (now Olshan Properties), most notably leasing and developing the retail/commercial space at the Parkchester Apartment Complex in the Bronx, NY. He was also responsible for 6.5 million square feet of commercial properties in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia and Louisiana.

Over the years, he has executed transactions with national tenants that include Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, LA Fitness, Crate & Barrel, Lululemon Athletica, Chipotle, and Lowe’s Home Improvements. Early in his career, he served as a vice president at Lucille Roberts Health Clubs, Inc. and developed an innovative retail expansion program for the fitness brand.

Mr. Salmon earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University, majoring in Economics and Public Policy and Management. He is a licensed real estate broker in New York and a member of ICSC.
