Toys"R"Us, Inc., the world's leading dedicated toy and baby products retailer, today announced James Young has been named Executive Vice President and General Counsel effective immediately. He will report directly to Chairman and CEO Dave Brandon.
Mr. Young, a 10-year veteran of the Toys"R"Us Legal division, has deep experience and working knowledge of the company's capital structure, finance and business operations. In his tenure with the company, Mr. Young has amassed an impressive portfolio working on projects ranging from contract negotiations to mergers and acquisitions and corporate compliance. He has served as Assistant Corporate Secretary and was responsible for overseeing the company's SEC reporting obligations.
Mr. Young has also played a key role in Toys"R"Us refinancing efforts, and more recently, its restructuring activities.
In the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary role, Mr. Young will take on responsibility for the nearly 15 in-house lawyers and paralegals as well as any outside counsel activities. He will be a member the company's Leadership Team and will also join the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund Board.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Young was corporate counsel for Cytec Industries, Inc. in West Paterson, New Jersey. Before that he was an associate at Reed Smith LLP. Mr. Young has a B.S. from Babson College in Massachusetts and a J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School.
Mr. Young resides in Wyckoff, New Jersey with his wife, Elaine and three children.
Mr. Young replaces Cornell Boggs who joined the company in early 2017.
