On October 21, 2017, Douglas Elliman Real Estate agents from across the country came together for a charity cycling ride from New Canaan, CT to REINVENT, Douglas Elliman's annual national sales and networking conference. Riders could choose either the 100 mile Century ride or the 35 mile sprint, with both rides concluding at the Mohegan Sun, where the conference was held.
For the fifth year, The 2017 Ride to REINVENT, led by the event’s founder, Max Dobens, Douglas Elliman’s Senior Regional Executive Manager of Sales for Brooklyn, raised funds for God's Love We Deliver, the New York City metropolitan area's leading provider of nutritious meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
Close to 50 riders and over 1,600 donors raised $184,028 for the cause. Since its inception, the Ride to REINVENT has raised over $600,000, providing over 60,000 meals. This year, Elliman participants hailed from California, Long Island, Brooklyn, New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut and were even joined by riders from Knight Frank in London.
“It has really been incredible to watch Ride to REINVENT experience new levels of success every year,” said Dobens. “I’m so grateful to my colleagues at Elliman for supporting this endeavor – it makes a world of difference to work with passionate people committed to supporting terrific organizations like God’s Love We Deliver.”
First place finisher was agent Vavrinec Fecko, from Elliman’s 156 Montague Street office in Brooklyn, who rode with a family heirloom: his father’s shoes from his professional riding career in Slovakia. Ed D’Ambrosio, Executive Sales Director of North Shore, Long Island, was the recipient of the Magic Helmet Award for the top individual fundraising participant for the second year in a row, raising $17,675 this year. In 2018, the ride will be open to anyone who has bought or sold with Douglas Elliman.
REINVENT draws 1,500 real estate professionals from all over the country, and offers unique networking opportunities and valuable business-development skills training.

The mission of God's Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. We prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves.
