HNA Group announced that CEO Adam Tan was presented the prestigious Calvary Medal at Calvary Hospital's 34th Annual Awards Gala in recognition of his distinguished corporate and philanthropic leadership in the international business community.
The award was presented to Mr. Tan by the Chairman of the Board of the Calvary Fund and dinner Co-Chair, Carlos M. Hernandez, who received the honor in 2011.
Presenting the Medal to Adam Tan, Carlos Hernandez commented: "It is my honor to present the Calvary Medal to Adam Tan, a man I have had the privilege to get to know professionally and personally. Adam is an astute leader, and his active support of worthy causes around the globe is exceptional. HNA and its founders have been thoughtful philanthropists since their start in 1993, and their ongoing commitment to CSR is reflected in the new partnership with Calvary Hospital to support its mission of compassionate care throughout our community. We're proud to call Adam and HNA Group true friends of Calvary Hospital."
Accepting the Calvary Medal, Mr. Tan said, "As a company rooted in the Chinese values of integrity and mutual respect, HNA Group embraces social responsibility – to our people, our environment and the communities in which we serve. I am honored to be recognized on behalf of HNA Group for our active engagement with partners like Calvary Hospital in contributing towards the wellbeing of families and a more compassionate society."
Earlier in the week, Mr. Tan toured Calvary Hospital's Bronx facility, meeting with healthcare providers and hospital administrators to view the unique services of Calvary Hospital, the nation's only fully-accredited acute care specialty hospital, exclusively providing palliative care to adult patients with advanced cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
"I was moved by the work of specialists and care providers at Calvary Hospital today," Mr. Tan continued. "I applaud the expertise and unique services provided by the Calvary team and have been impressed by the important work they undertake every day. We look forward to an ongoing partnership with the hospital."
