NPA Awards Top Honors to Two SKIDATA Installations in the United States!

10/30/17

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SKIDATA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SKIDATA AG is excited to announce that the NPA Innovation Awards were presented to 2 of SKIDATA’s installations in the United States!

The awards for both Innovative Organization of the Year and Innovative Facility of the Year went to two of SKIDATA’s U.S. installations at the NPA’s Annual Awards Luncheon. The team at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Parking Business Unit (DFW/PBU) took home the award for Innovative Organization of the Year. Innovative Facility of the Year went to MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both expansive installations feature a full suite of SKIDATA parking software and hardware as well as integrations with INDECT Parking Guidance Systems.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has been an anchor installation for SKIDATA, Inc. for nearly a decade. DFW works closely with SKIDATA in a consultative business relationship with upgrades and expansions perpetually being implemented to adapt to the changing needs of the airport. One of the busiest airports in the country, DFW was voted as the top airport in customer satisfaction in the large airport category in ACI’s 2016 Airport Service Quality survey. According to the NPA website (www.weareparking.org), this, along with “Organizational innovation and applied best practices” was the key decision maker in earning them this prestigious parking award!

Keith Lynch, Head of Sales – SKIDATA, Inc. expressed his pride in these achievements, “We congratulate DFW’s Parking Business Unit on this award and are very pleased the SKIDATA solutions continue to fit into their roadmap to provide the optimal customer experience while ensuring safety and security.”

MGM Resorts International’s installation of parking equipment in 11 of their resort properties is a complex and technologically advanced project which was completed by Sentry Control Systems, part of the SKIDATA Group. The parking facilities are all tied together on a fiber optic network accessible on a central command center managed by SP Plus which allows for 24/7 monitoring. The successful execution of the “monumental task” of installing a system with 13,000 individual parking space sensors along with wayfinding systems integrated with SKIDATA’s access control and revenue system was what made this facility stand above the rest according to the NPA.

Dana Wade, Director of Business Development for Sentry’s Las Vegas operations shared his thoughts, “This program was unparalleled in terms of both its size and the extent to which different technologies were integrated to work together. The MGM program demonstrated how any organization can successfully implement a variety of parking technologies to provide a better customer experience, while at the same time managing their parking assets more effectively with the right partners in place.”
