Advance Realty Earns 2017 Economic Vitality Award

The Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) will recognize four organizations for their leadership in enhancing the economic competitiveness of Somerset County.

Recipients of the 2017 Economic Vitality Awards are Advance Realty, Edgewood Properties, Raritan Valley Community College, and Rutgers University.

The Economic Vitality Awards will be presented at the Somerset County Business Partnership Annual Meeting on Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Palace at Somerset Park, 333 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey. The day’s activities will begin with a networking reception at 11:30 A.M. followed by the luncheon at 12:15 P.M.

Advance Realty is being honored for creating the New Jersey Center for Excellence on Route 202/206 in Bridgewater.  The Center of Excellence is attracting companies from throughout the world to Somerset County and will include recreational, residential, and restaurant amenities to compete its transition.

Edgewood Properties is being recognized for their contribution to the rebirth of downtown Somerville with the construction of The Edge at Main, an upscale residential complex with exciting retail and restaurants on the street level a short walk to the Somerville train station.

Raritan Valley Community College is being honored for the workforce development initiatives that are providing current and future employees with the training and education needed to compete in today’s economy.

Rutgers University is recognized for collaborating with the SCBP to build a strong connection with the Somerset County business community so that we can access a wide range of services, including workforce development essentials, talent acquisition, and methods of leveraging faculty expertise.

The SCBP Annual Meeting attracts more than 500 people from the private and public sectors who gather to mingle while enjoying the food and ambience that make The Palace one of the area’s top venues for celebrations.   This year the Business Partnership will tell the story of the Somerset County comeback by recognizing our 2017 Economic Vitality Award recipients.

“The Annual Meeting is Somerset County’s largest and most important gathering of the business community. It allows leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors to come together to support the Business Partnership’s work to make the best place to live, work, play and visit,” commented Business Partnership CEO Mike Kerwin.
