Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty LLC has named Ian Tarasuk, Esq., as an associate real estate broker, the Long Island City-based industrial and retail property brokerage announces.

Mr. Tarasuk, a member of the New York State and New Jersey Bars, and the Queens County Bar Association, served for the past 11 years as staff attorney in the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society of New York. Prior to that, he worked as a staff accountant at the New York accounting firm of Cornick, Garber & Sandler, and also amassed experience as an equities trader.

“Joining our firm represents a career shift that Ian is very well prepared for,” explained the partners at S&Z. “His legal and business insights, together with the detailed knowledge of our local communities that he accumulated over more than a decade of service with the Legal Aid Society, make him a valuable new member of our growing staff.”

Mr. Tarasuk is a graduate of the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he was Treasurer of the Student Bar Association, Florida Bar Foundation Public Service Fellow and a member of the Pro Bono Honors Program. Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor degree, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.

Mr. Tarasuk lives in North Woodmere, N.Y. with his wife and five-year-old daughter.
