Hospitality House, a premier Food and Beverage Advisory firm providing strategy, support, and real estate services to Hospitality and Real Estate communities throughout North America,is pleased to announce it has facilitated a pop-up collaboration between Jalapa Jar and Alloy Development (Alloy) at 384 Schermerhorn in Downtown Brooklyn, which will open on October 17th.

Hospitality House sourced the Austin-inspired, Brooklyn-based eateryJalapa Jar, which got its start at the Smorgasburg “foodie” event in Williamsburg. The new,650-square-foot locationwill be a hybrid “groceraunt,” selling products such as cookbooks in addition to select food items, including its famed salsa.Jalapa Jar, which has another location at the Clark Street subway station, sold salsa before building out a menu, using its product on an assortment of breakfast taco offerings.

The space, which Alloy plans to convert into a mixed-use development with affordable and market-rate housing, will break ground within the next two years. In the meantime, Jalapa Jar will use the location for its classic offerings as well as locally-sourced products from purveyor Brooklyn FoodWorks.

“We are truly excited to bring another quality tenant to this trendy area of Downtown Brooklyn,” said Hospitality House Associate Jordan Rahimi. “Jalapa Jar got its start in this borough, so it’s only appropriate that they have a pop-up preceding their plans for a permanent location in the area. With Barclays Center as well as the Brooklyn Academy of Music around the corner, they’re a perfect fit for the neighborhood and will be welcomed with open arms.”
