GEM Advertising Debuts on Inc. 5000 List of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies

8/22/17

Inc. magazine has just unveiled its 36th annual list of America's fastest-growing private companies, the "Inc. 5000," and New Haven, CT-based communications and marketing agency, GEM Advertising, has been named as number 725. Inc. 5000 is the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. This is the first time GEM is appearing on the Inc. 5000 list, showing a three-year sales growth of 631%. GEM also ranks as the 3rd fastest growing company in CT on the list.

The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy's most dynamic segment — its independent small and midsized businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino's Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.

GEM Advertising's Chief Executive Officer Chris Bartlett said, "For GEM to make its debut entrance to the Inc. 5000 list of America's Fastest Growing Companies at #725 is an honor that we have worked strategically to achieve for several years now. GEM created a proprietary process, the Growth Experience Model, in order to accelerate the growth of our partner clients, building a strategic communications firm with aggressive growth as the central tenet. It has been extremely fulfilling to see that our proven model works with our own company as well. "

"If you look at any of the investment markets today, growth is the primary metric for evaluating a sound investment," remarked Peter Kozodoy, the Chief Strategy Officer at GEM Advertising. "Since our primary service is to provide aggressive growth for our clients, we couldn't be prouder to see that our formulas work even on our own fast-growing communications agency. This evidence clearly makes a strategic communications partner like GEM a brilliant investment for any company looking for aggressive growth."

Best known for its au courant approach to modern marketing, GEM uses its Growth Experience ModelSM to help clients and potential clients clear away the ad clutter and become what they call a "unicorn brand." The GEM Model is based on the insight that — in today's transparent world — authentic brand experiences make for the most impactful communication strategies, which in turn produce aggressive growth. Using this Model, GEM has not only helped their clients grow top-line revenues, but they have also been able to use the Model for their own accelerated growth.

The 2017 Inc. 5000, unveiled online at Inc.com and with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands now), is the most competitive crop in the list's history. The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year average growth of 481%. The Inc. 5000's aggregate revenue is $206 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 619,500 jobs over the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.

About Inc. and the Inc. 5000

Methodology

The 2017 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2013 to 2016. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2013. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2016. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2013 is $100,000; the minimum for 2016 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
