Mullica Hill and Haddon Heights Residents Join NJ Communications Firm

Laura Bishop Communications (LBC) has grown with the recent additions of an account manager and an account associate. Allyson Roberts, of Mullica Hill, N.J., recently joined the LBC team as an account manager, and Carly Brady, of Haddon Heights, N.J., joined the staff as an account associate following a year of interning with the company.

“The addition of Allyson and Carly not only complements our team’s expertise, but also raises the bar in strategic communications, media relations, social media and grants services,” said Managing Principal Laura Bishop. “We are well-positioned to maintain the highest level of communications services for our current and prospective clients as we and they grow.”

Prior to joining LBC, Roberts worked at Widener University in the Office of University Relations, serving as the primary communications contact for many of the schools within the university.  Roberts helped academic programs tell their stories through the news media, social media, internal and alumni communications and the university website. Her ability and talent to tailor a message for different mediums while keeping on message is one of her strengths.

In addition to serving as editor of the Widener University internal newsletter, “What’s Up @ Widener,” Roberts was an integral member of the social media team.  The team’s work on a Social Media Commencement Campaign in 2014 earned it a ladle award from the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Roberts also earned multiple awards from the College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals Organization (CUPRAP), while at Widener. Among her honors was a gold award in 2014 for the media relations campaign to introduce Widener University’s own earth-friendly coffee, WU Brew.

Roberts enjoys the communications field because it allows her to pair her writing and interpersonal skills to get to the heart of and tell a good story. Because of this, she is not only an asset to LBC clients in terms of public relations, but also grant writing.

Roberts graduated summa cum laude from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and Rowan University with a master’s degree in corporate communications.

Carly Brady began working with Laura Bishop Communications as an intern in June 2016.  When she returned to Penn State University in the fall of her senior year, she continued to work remotely with LBC.

In May 2017, Brady earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in digital media trends and analytics from the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University, University Park, Pa.  While attending the university, Brady was an active member of Alpha Phi and THON.  Following her graduation, Brady joined LBC full-time as an account associate. Brady is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Sierra Club.

Brady brings enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to LBC’s work.  She is particularly adept in social media and is using her skills on behalf of both LBC and its clients.  A talented writer, Brady has a creative eye, which helps her put a unique twist on LBC projects.  Her excitement surrounding her work and clients fuels her prolific skills.
