NEW YORK, July 31, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Health Council is proud to welcome Arthur Childs, Medical Director of Dr. Arthur Childs Medical Home in Cape May County, New Jersey, to its Board of Physicians. With 26 years in his current role, along with 31 years in the healthcare field, Dr. Childs brings to the healthcare industry expertise in internal medicine and critical care.

Dr. Childs earned his Bachelor’s in Microbiology and Psychology from Rutgers University. His medical degree was obtained from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1986, completing his internship, residency, and fellowship in critical care and internal medicine.

Gaining an interest in science, along with a natural inclination towards helping others prompted Dr. Childs to become involved in his current field of practice. He finds satisfaction and great reward in the privilege of being part of the everyday lives and major decisions regarding the health and well-being of his patients. As a 24/7 on-call physician for his patients, Dr. Childs’ day to day responsibilities include being an advocate for his patients, teaching and hospital based initiatives including heading a multidisciplinary Critical Care Team and Director of Critical Care. He attributes his success to never compromising his values, and prioritizing his patients’ care above all else.

Dr. Childs is professionally associated with the American College of Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. His charitable organizations include JDRF, a diabetes research effort for funding and advocacy, where he serves as Corporate Chair.

Dr. Childs’ goals within the next five years include continuing to battle through complex changes in medicine and continuing to create a positive impact within the health field(s). In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
