CoreNet NYC Announces Winners Of Annual Awards

CoreNet Global New York City Chapter(CoreNet NYC) is pleased to announce the winners of its annual Chapter awards for Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year, Service Provider of the Year and Commercial InteriorProjects of the Year. On June 21, 2017, members of CoreNet NYC gathered at 1345 Avenue of the Americas for the Annual Meeting, where award winners were honored.

Bruce MacAffer, Senior Vice President, Group Real Estate for the Americas at WPP,was awarded Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year. Chris Kelly, Co-Founder, President, and Chief Development Officer of Convene, was named Service Provider of the Year. Time Inc. and TPG Architecture were awarded Commercial Interiors Project of the Year Under75,000 RSF, and Foot Locker and Ted Moudis Associates were awarded Commercial Interiors Project of the YearOver 75,000 RSF. Additionally, several members received volunteer appreciation awards during the event.

About the Nominees and Winners

2017 Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year

WINNER:Bruce MacAffer, SVP, Group Real Estate for the Americas, WPP

MacAfferhas been a corporate real estate professional for 25 years. Currently, he is SVP, Global Real Estate – Americas over seeing real estate strategy and portfolio management on WPP’s 9 million-square-foot North and South American real estate portfolio. MacAffer’s work at WPP has been described as truly transformational for the Global Real Estate organization, the people at WPP, the firm and the real estate industry. In New York City, WPP’s headquarters’ relocation projects have garnered many awards, including Grey Advertising in Madison Square Garden and Ogilvy & Mather on the Far West Side, which both won REBNY’s “Deal of the Year” in 2007 and 2008. In 2013, Young & Rubicam’s 375,000-square-foot HQ lease and condominium at 3 Columbus Circle won IFMA Design & Construction of a New Facility as well as for best LEED Certified Project. Currently, MacAffer and his team are working with GroupM developing its new 690,000 SF HQ anchoring 2 World Trade Center.

2017 Service Provider of the Year

WINNER:Chris Kelly, Co-Founder, President, and Chief Development Officer, Convene

Kelly is the co-founder, president, and chief development officer of Convene, commercial real estate’s first workplace-as-a-service platform. Convene operates a network of full-service meeting and event venues, and partners with commercial landlords to infuse “hotel-like” services and amenities into office buildings. Convene has 15 locations in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., with locations in Los Angeles and Chicago coming soon. Kelly is an active thought leader and industry spokesperson, and has spoken at WORKTECH, Cornell Baker School of Real Estate, NYC Shack Institute of Real Estate, and MIT Center for Real Estate. He has been recognized as a Top Entrepreneur by Crain’s New York Business, a finalist in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards, and is the only person to have been twice recognized on Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30” list of Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs.
