Four Klasko Immigration Law Attorneys Participate at AILA 2017 Annual Conference

Klasko Immigration Law Partners, LLP partners H. Ronald Klasko, William A. Stock, Elise A. Fialkowski, and associate Andrew Zeltner participated in the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) 2017 Annual Conference June 21-24, 2017. Mr. Klasko participated as discussion leader in an advanced-level roundtable discussion about the major changes in the EB-5 program and presented strategies to overcome the issues. Mr. Stock participated in a strategy session on hot topics with other AILA National Officers, and also presented on the ever-changing landscape in practicing immigration law. Ms. Fialkowski presented on an all-levels panel about the key issues that U.S. practitioners should be concerned about regarding global immigration. Mr. Zeltner participated on an intermediate-level panel about how to maintain LPR status when assigned or choosing to live abroad temporarily.

H. Ronald Klasko is widely recognized by businesses, universities, hospitals, scholars, investors and other lawyers as one of the country’s leading immigration lawyers. A founding member of Klasko Immigration Law Partners, LLP, he has practiced immigration law exclusively over three decades. A former National President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Mr. Klasko served as General Counsel of that organization for three Presidents and has been a member of its Board of Governors since 1980. He has served as National Chair of AILA’s U.S. Department of Labor Liaison Committee and Business Immigration Committee, and he served as National Chair of that organization’s INS General Counsel Liaison Committee and the National Task Forces on Labor Certifications, H-1 visas, L-1 visas and Employer Sanctions. He presently chairs AILA’s EB-5 Committee, and is serving his fifth term in that capacity. Mr. Klasko is one of only three practicing lawyers ever honored with the AILA Founders Award for his contributions to immigration jurisprudence. A graduate of Lehigh University (B.A. 1971), he received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 1974).

William A. Stock has practiced immigration law exclusively for over 20 years and is the immediate past President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2004 and Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business every year since 2006. His clients include small businesses, medium sized companies, and multinational corporations and their employees; hospitals, institutions of higher education and scientific research centers; as well as investors and other individual clients. Bill is a co- author of the "J Visa Guidebook" from Lexis Publishing along with numerous immigration law articles. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN), (B.A.1990), he received his law degree from the University of Minnesota (J.D., magna cum laude, 1993).

Elise A. Fialkowski has practiced immigration law for over twenty years and handles all aspects of employment based immigration. Her clients run the gamut from multinational corporations and their employees to universities and private individuals. In addition to employment-based immigration work, Ms. Fialkowski has particular experience in worksite enforcement and leads the worksite compliance group at the firm. She regularly counsels clients regarding I-9 compliance, E-Verify and H-1B Labor Condition Application (LCA) compliance. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Fialkowski's practice also included advising employers in traditional employment and labor law matters, including litigation as well as advice regarding proactive action to avoid and minimize claims. With her immigration clients, she has provided counseling, training and policy development services to employers in a diversity of industries including, for example, pharmaceutical, university, food and beverage, manufacturing, healthcare and continuing care retirement communities. Ms. Fialkowski has long been active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and currently serves as the Co-Chair of AILA’s Global Migration Section Conference Committee and on the USCIS Philadelphia Liaison Committee. She has served on the Executive Committee of AILA’s Philadelphia Chapter and on many other committees at the local and national level, including the E-Verify Liaison Committee. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A. 1987), Ms. Fialkowski received her law degree from the Villanova University School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1991).

Andrew Zeltner is an Associate in the Firm’s Philadelphia office, and handles a wide array of corporate immigration matters including those involving the processing of permanent resident applications (green cards) on behalf of multinational corporate and individual clients, including labor certification applications, immigrant visa petitions and adjustment of status applications. Mr. Zeltner received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics (cum laude) from The Catholic University of America in 1999 and earned his J.D. (cum laude) from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Mr. Zeltner served as Opinions Editor of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal.
