ColoCrossing Expands Downtown Buffalo Datacenter

6/27/17

ColoCrossing, an operating arm of parent company Velocity Servers Inc., has announced the completion of a major expansion to their existing flagship datacenter, located at 325 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202. The 7,000-square foot datacenter has been upgraded to include an additional 140 KW of cooling capacity by installing 7 Liebert In-Row Advanced Direct Expansion CRAC units. Each of the 7 CRAC units has its own condenser which benefits from variable fan speed modulation for improved efficiency, helping to further enhance the facility's overall efficiency. In addition, the company has added 80 KVA of UPS backed power through the addition of an APC 80 KVA N+1 Symmetra, providing more uninterruptible power capacity.

Of their most recent expansion, President Jon Biloh said: "By completing this project, we're enabling our company to continue its growth both within the Western New York region, as well as nationwide. By taking these steps, we're adding to the stability and capability of our Downtown Buffalo datacenter operations, which already employs more than 30 people and continues to grow."

ColoCrossing first began their commitment to Downtown Buffalo when they opened their first Buffalo based datacenter in 2012, followed by moving its 24 hour Network Operations Center from Williamsville, NY to Buffalo in 2014. In 2015, they opened their flagship datacenter in the present Delaware Avenue location, and by 2016 their nationwide headquarters were moved to the same building.

About ColoCrossing: Founded in 2003, ColoCrossing is a provider of datacenter services including colocation, dedicated servers, managed IT services, and network security. Serving 8 strategically located markets nationwide, the company is well positioned to help businesses solve their IT challenges all across the United States. ColoCrossing currently employs more than 30 people in Buffalo, NY and plans to add 15 new employees by the end of 2018. Much of this growth is made possible by the strength of the local Buffalo economy, as well as the global need for cloud computing and data storage solutions.
