JLL has hired life sciences expert John Cahill as a senior vice president with its New York brokerage operations. He will focus on tenant representation and agency leasing services for life sciences and biotechnology clients throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Cahill has more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate, primarily focusing on life sciences and biotechnology transactions in the New York metropolitan area. He is highly experienced in evaluating new markets for clients, as well as in the leasing and disposition of office space, research and development facilities, and laboratory and manufacturing buildings.

“John Cahill has an outstanding reputation in the New York metropolitan area for his work with medical, life sciences and biotechnology companies,” said Phil Palmer, executive managing director. “He will serve a crucial role in providing a broad range of real estate services to our clients in these thriving industry sectors.”

Prior to joining JLL, Cahill was a principal at a major New York brokerage firm, where he served as senior advisor and head of the life sciences practice. He oversaw the expansion of the firm’s pharmaceutical, medical and biotechnology client base in the New York metropolitan area and nationally. Earlier, Cahill served with two other major New York brokerages, first as a member of a global life sciences practice group and, most recently, as a partner with a second firm’s life sciences and data centers solutions practice groups.

Prior to joining the real estate industry, Cahill worked in pharmaceutical sales and marketing with Johnson & Johnson and Alcon Laboratories.

Cahill earned a bachelor’s degree in operations management from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management. He is a member of NewYorkBIO, the New Jersey Technology Council and BioNJ.
