American Health Council Names Bac X. Nguyen, M.D., to Physician Board

NEW YORK, June 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Bac X. Nguyen, Medical Director of Inspira Medical Group Family Medicine Mullica Hill Commons, has been selected to join the Physician Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and General Medicine.

With nineteen years of experience in the field of Family Medicine, Dr. Nguyen offers valuable insight in his role as Medical Director for physician practice located in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. Inspira Medical Group comprises of more than 30 primary care and over 70 specialty physicians practicing in five South Jersey counties. The practices are part of Inspira Health Network, a charitable non-profit health care organization serving the communities of southern New Jersey.

Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Nguyen’s day-to-day responsibilities include running a full-time clinical practice, and teaching medical students and physician assistant students. He serves as a Chairman for the Inspira Medical Group Quality Committee, Senior Director of the group’s Governance Committee, and as a member of the Information Systems and GPRO committees. Dr. Nguyen also works as a part-time faculty member for Inspira’s Family Medicine Residency program in Woodbury, New Jersey.

Following graduation with his medical degree from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 1998, Dr. Nguyen completed his residency in Family Medicine at Christiana Care Health System.

As an experienced and highly skilled physician, Dr. Nguyen believes it is not only important to treat the illness itself, but to care for each patient as an individual, focusing on their goals, priorities and stage of life. His special interests include sports medicine, aesthetic medicine, asthma and allergy treatment, adolescent health and preventive medicine.

Due to his commitment to the field of Medicine, Dr. Nguyen has been presented with the Patient Choice Award, Unitas Alumni Diversity and Service Award by Union College, and a Lifetime Member Award by the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Dr. Nguyen chose the field of Medicine because he has had a strong desire to help children since he grew up in Vietnam. He fondly remembers coming to the United States of America in 1986 as a refugee minor and growing up in a foster home in NY along with his two brothers and other foster children. He attended school at Suffern High School and then went on to Union College where he met his wife, Linh Nguyen, to whom he has been married for over 20 years. Upon completion of college, he attended Dartmouth Medical School and Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen attributes his success to his passion for medicine and patient care.

Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Nguyen is proud to be the first college-graduate in his family. Currently, he is completing a prerequisite program to become a Certified Physician Executive, and has been elected to participate in the Executive MBA program from St. Joseph's University - Haub School of Business.

Dr. Nguyen maintains affiliations with the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Board of Family Medicine, American Medical Association, and American Association of Family Physicians.

In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys playing the guitar, writing poetry, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and attend to school and sports activities of his two children. He prides himself in guiding his children to become productive and responsible citizens. Dr. Nguyen volunteers as a community clinical instructor for Philadelphia University and Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

Looking ahead, Dr. Nguyen hopes to transition into administrative medicine and institute policy changes.
