Charny Karpousis Altieri & Donoian, P.A. partner Nicole Donoian-Pody was an invited speaker at the Gloucester County Legal Education Association held May 11th at the Gloucester County Fire Academy in Clarksboro, New Jersey. The CLE program, entitled “Nuts & Bolts of Lawyer Client Fee Arbitration,” highlighted the issue of client refusals to pay legal bills and filing a related complaint with the Fee Arbitration Committee. Ms. Donoian-Pody spoke to the attendees about ethical billing practices, retainer agreements and how cases should be presented to the Fee Arbitration Panel.

According to the Gloucester County Legal Education Association, its mission is to provide attorneys with continuing education, enabling them to enhance their skills to better serve the public through improved legal services. This program highlights the fee arbitration process established by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, which acts as a low-cost, efficient method to resolve such disputes. Maintained by volunteers, district fee arbitration committees throughout the state are tasked with settling these matters in a straightforward, time saving manner.

Nicole Donoian-Pody has 16 years of experience in all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including alimony, child support, child custody, parenting time, grandparent’s rights, division of assets and prenuptial agreements. A particular focus of her practice includes complex divorce matters involving unique issues, substantial marital estates and business valuations.
