McCann Named North American Agency Of The Year At New York Festivals


McCann was named North America's "Regional Agency of the Year" at the New York Festivals International Advertising Awards on Thursday night. This latest honor follows having been recently named Agency of the Year at The One Show Awards, as well as both Agency of the Year and Network of the Year at the ADC Annual Awards and International ANDY Awards.

"It takes an army of dedicated people, in every department, to achieve this kind of honor. We will continue to try to make our clients wildly successful, here in North America and around the world," said Rob Reilly, Global Creative Chairman of McCann Worldgroup.

McCann New York, Commonwealth//McCann in Detroit, and Fitzgerald & Co. in Atlanta contributed prizes toward the region-specific honor for campaigns on behalf of clients including Chevrolet, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Cigna, National Geographic, Godiva, and Checkers & Rally's. Two Grand Prizes were awarded to McCann New York's "Field Trip to Mars" campaign for Lockheed Martin, in the "Activation & Engagement" and "Outdoor/Out of Home Marketing" categories.

11 McCann Worldgroup agencies outside of North America contributed toward a strong global showing that amounted to a total of 45 awards in the competition. These include agencies in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, India, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Tunisia, and the UK. Additionally, more than 25 agencies in the global McCann network were recognized as Finalists.

The New York Festivals International Advertising Awards "honors advertising excellence through 19 competitions in all media from 80+ countries and represent the full spectrum of today's advertising communications…. With 400+ jury members representing 75+ countries, NYF International Advertising Awards has the largest, most creative international jury and judging system in the world."

McCann's New York Festivals performance is the latest of many recent top global creative honors won by McCann Worldgroup, which was ranked in 2016 by The Gunn Report as the world's second most creatively awarded network overall in advertising and specifically in digital as well. In 2017, the agency won Network of the Year and Agency of the Year honors both at the International ANDY Awards—where it also won the Best in Show GRANDY award—and the ADC Annual Awards, where it was also named Digital Agency of the Year and won the coveted ADC Black Cube in Digital for best in discipline for its Lockheed Martin "Field Trip to Mars" VR campaign. The agency was also awarded Agency of the Year at The One Show.
