MVP Health Care Partners with RowdMap

5/9/17

RowdMap, Inc., a national leader in measuring and developing high-value care, announced today a multi-year partnership to design networks and products for Medicaid, Medicare and employer-sponsored health insurance members served by MVP Health Care (MVP) of Schenectady, New York.

RowdMap's Risk-Readiness® benchmarks describe practice patterns for nearly every provider in the U.S. and the implications of those practice patterns for patients who seek care. These benchmarks are constructed from the analysis of robust public data released by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, using principles and criteria developed by physicians and researchers in leading organizations such as the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation.

"MVP Health Care is committed to improving access to high-value healthcare services available to our members, and our collaboration with RowdMap is designed with that objective in mind," said Karla Austen, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MVP Health Care.

"Progressive health plans are transitioning from traditional insurance models to partners who enable providers in their local communities to serve members with incentives aligned with value rather than volume," said Melanie Rosenthal, Chief Executive Office of RowdMap. "We are excited to help MVP reach their goals while successfully participating in value-based programs such as New York's Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP)."

About RowdMap

An Ernst and Young EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® winner, RowdMap offers Risk-Readiness® Benchmarks and services to help health plans, physician groups, and hospital systems identify, quantify, and reduce low-value care that physicians deliver—a central tenet of successful pay-for-value programs. Through practice pattern and referral analysis, RowdMap's benchmarks identify the health care entities that manage unwarranted and unexpected variation in care. This variation leads to more than $850 billion in low-value care annually. Payers and physicians use RowdMap's physician and population health benchmarks to create strategies that put these highest performing physicians at the center of networks and then design products, organize clinical programs, and coordinate sales and marketing around them.
