Aditi Eleswarapu
DLA Piper announced today that Aditi Eleswarapu has joined the firm as pro bono counsel in the New York office. In this role, Eleswarapu will support the firm’s domestic pro bono initiatives.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Eleswarapu was a corporate associate representing public and private companies in capital markets and M&A transactions at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York. During her time there, she completed a pro bono externship with Lawyers Alliance for New York, where she provided business and transactional legal services to local nonprofit organizations and social enterprises.
Eleswarapu also participated in pro bono projects, including assisting an environmental nonprofit and conducting case research on claims brought by immigrant detainees relating to inadequate medical care.
“Aditi’s passion for improving access to justice and her experience assisting with pro bono efforts on behalf of both individuals and organizations will make her a strong asset to our team,” said Lisa Dewey, DLA Piper US Pro Bono Partner and director of New Perimeter, the firm’s global pro bono initiative. “We are constantly striving to help meet the growing demand for pro bono legal assistance in the US, and we are thrilled to have Aditi on board as we continue those efforts.”
Eleswarapu received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her A.B. from Princeton University. During law school, she participated in legal clinics as part of the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization, which provides legal representation to individuals and organizations in need of legal services but unable to afford private attorneys. As a member of clinics focused on community economic development and transnational development, her work included advising a nonprofit on corporate governance issues related to forming a workers’ cooperative in a low-income community.
