The first part of the presentation will include discussions of: (1) the current state of U.S. sanctions laws and export restrictions affecting trade with Cuba and others in Latin America; (2) the SEC's current anti-corruption enforcement priorities and cooperation policy; and (3) anti-corruption due diligence with respect to joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions in Latin America.
The panel will then present a hypothetical case that delves into the many issues that can arise during a corporate FCPA and accounting practices internal investigation, and how to best resolve those issues. This part of the presentation will include the insightful points of view of in-house and outside counsel, regulators and law enforcement, and outside investigative professionals as they work through a series of plot twists in the hypothetical case.
