Newly Renovated Historical 160 Year-Old Building Features 25 Luxury Rentals

Ideal Properties Group, a leading Brooklyn real estate firm, today announced that The Livingston Collection, located at the intersection of Downtown Brooklyn and historic Brooklyn Heights, is 50 percent leased less than two weeks after launch. The building has 25 no-fee units available for rent.

The newly restored Livingston Collection has witnessed a vast and storied history spanning over 160 years. Otherwise known as 76-78 Court Street, the structure hosted the co-ed Central Grammar School, founded in September 1878, and was the first free public secondary school in New York City. In addition, the building hosted various commissions, political, civic and social clubs gathered within over the years, in pursuit of their respective missions.

“We have seen tremendous interest in The Livingston Collection in a very short amount of time,” stated Aleksandra Scepanovic, Managing Director of Ideal. “These amazing homes feature a mixture of modern amenities, central location and stunning décor. We are not surprised by the rapid pace at which the rentals are being leased and expect the remaining units to also quickly be scooped up.”

The pre-Civil War era structure has been restored and designed by DiGuiseppe Architect and stands the test of time, infusing it with a modern-day twist. The original exterior intact and graced by two additional stories, The Livingston Collection has residences starting at $3,300, according to Ideal, the exclusive marketing firm for the building.

The lobby contains exquisite furniture, crowned by a Zaha Hadid chandelier, and a mirrored chrome feature wall. One- and two-bedroom residences boast a mix of textured and lacquered imported Porcelanosa Gama-Décor cabinetry, blended with stone countertops and honed porcelain tile backsplashes. The kitchen appliances are of high-end stainless steel.

The bathrooms also have Porcelanosa products. The baths are designed with fine woodgrain porcelain tiles, with built-in shelving and vanities and stone and porcelain sinks. Each apartment’s hardwood floors are finished in five-inch wide plank red oak stained in a mocha satin finish. Select units feature original exposed brick accent walls and arched windows. Ceiling heights vary from floor-to-floor with some as high as 11 feet.

The Livingston Collection amenities include a virtual doorman, lobby package room, onsite storage and bicycle room. The landscaped and furnished common roof deck with planters and wood decking islands complement the views of Manhattan, New York Harbor, Freedom Tower and The Statue of Liberty.

Residents of this building will experience the landmark architecture, destination dining, parks, cafés, shopping and green markets in some of Brooklyn’s most desirable neighborhoods. The Livingston Collection is also located near 13 subways lines and the LIRR.
