DE Closes a Momentous Year of Growth and Expansion; Applauds Top Agents from NYC, Long Island, the Hamptons, Westchester, Connecticut, South Florida, California and Aspen
On March 9th, Douglas Elliman Chairman Howard M. Lorber and President and CEO Dottie Herman hosted the firm’s nationwide agents and employees at its glamorous annual awards celebration – The Ellies – held once again at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City. With $24.6 billion in total sales volume nationwide in 2016, a 10% increase from 2015, the event celebrated the firm’s growth, expansion and world-class agents from NYC, Long Island, the Hamptons, Westchester, Connecticut, South Florida, California and Aspen.
2016 was a banner year for the firm, which was again named the number one and largest residential brokerage in Manhattan, and responsible for eight of the top ten biggest residential sales in New York City and 38,099 rentals and sales transactions this year. Elliman has held the number one position for top dollar volume in Manhattan listings since 2013.
Elliman also dominated rentals as Manhattan’s largest rental brokerage with $6 million in rental listing inventory. Additionally, the firm was named Long Island’s top residential brokerage for total dollar volume and number of transactions.
Douglas Elliman also made tremendous strides in its expansion into California in 2016, and opened more offices in Florida, including the key markets of Jupiter and Bay Harbor.

Earning the award for #1 Team by Gross Commission Income (GCI) in New York City was The Eklund/Gomes Team, led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the 26 West 17th St. office. Taking home this year’s #1 Individual prize based on GCI was Lauren Muss of the 575 Madison Avenue office.
Rounding out the awards for Top Teams by GCI were The Holly Parker Team (#2), The De Niro Team (#3), The Darren Sukenik Team (#4), Janice Chang Team (#5), Sabrina Saltiel (#6), The Anderson-Ehrmann Team (#7), The Rubin Team (#8), Ann Cutbill Lenane (#9) and tied at number 10, The Fran Katzen Team and The Jacky Teplitzky Team.

In Brooklyn, Peters-O’Brien Team of the 490 Driggs Avenue office in Williamsburg was named Brooklyn’s Top Team by GCI. Additional Top Teams included The Maroni Team (#2), The Scott Klein Team (#3), The Carolyn Cedar Team (#4) and The Levitt Team (#5).
Myrel Glick of the 156 Montague Street office was named the #1 Top Agent in Brooklyn by GCI. Other Top Individuals by GCI were Bren Salamon (#2), Rita van Straten (#3), Alex Calabretta (#4) and Martha Ellman (#5).
The Top Team in Brooklyn by transactions also went to Peters-O’Brien Team. They were followed by The Maroni Team (#2), The Scott Klein Team (#3), Golovko Team (#4), and The Mazurek Team (#5).
The Top Individual Agent in Brooklyn by transactions was awarded to Allan Gerovitz of the 325 Court Street office. Rounding out the Top 5 were Diana Hermanowksi (#2), Bren Salamon (#3), Klevi Tomcini (#4) and Ruth Kessler (#5).
For Manhattan, The Top Retail and Commercial Award by Highest GCI was awarded to Esther Paster (#1) followed by Louis Puopolo (#2) and The Dana Commercial Group (#3). The Top Retail and Commercial Award by Transactions went to The Dana Commercial Group (#1) followed by Louis Puopolo (#2) and Faith Hope Consolo (#3).
The Kotler Team, based out of the 575 Madison Avenue, was office in Manhattan, named the firm’s Top Rental Team for Manhattan, and Arthur Fenton, also based out of that office, was named Manhattan’s Top Individual for Rentals. The Golovoko Team was named the Top Rental Team for Brooklyn.
In Westchester & Connecticut, darning first place for Top Teams by GCI was The Berkowitz Marrone Team from the Scarsdale office. Other top teams included The Fieldstone Group (#2), The Stevens Kencel Group (#3), The Strong Oestreich Team (#4) and The Miller Goldenberg Team (#5).
