Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. continues to enhance its nationally recognized Litigation Practice with the addition of Christopher Sullivan, a highly-respected trial and appellate attorney with more than three decades of experience in complex national and international business litigation, including extensive trial and appellate expertise. Over the course of his career, Mr. Sullivan has taken numerous jury trials to verdict; handled countless bench trials and arbitrations; and led a number of precedent-setting cases in the Second Circuit and the New York State Court of Appeals.  He joins the firm as a Member in the New York office.

Mr. Sullivan is well versed in high-stakes legal matters, including internal investigations; criminal and quasi-criminal matters; regulatory actions; shareholder demands; and corporate governance challenges. He also is an authority on loan workouts; distressed debt situations; issues involving troubled or financially weakened companies; and bank practices and procedures. He regularly represents public firms, as well as their boards of directors and audit committees; privately held companies; funds; and individual clients in significant litigation in federal and state courts. Fluent in French and Italian, and conversational in Chinese, he serves as a go-to resource for international clients seeking to advance their interests in the U.S. and globally.

Mr. Sullivan also is known as an effective negotiator in business divorce cases, such as fights for control of privately held business and break-ups of professional practices. He was appellate counsel in two of the leading cases in New York regarding the fiduciary duties owed by lawyers to their law firms. His work in Graubard v. Moskovitz is credited with fundamentally reframing the fiduciary responsibility of lawyers when they leave their firms, helping shape the rule for the legal profession itself.
