Thomas Havens Joins Loeb & Loeb as Partner

Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Thomas C. Havens has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Capital Markets and Corporate Department, and a member of the firm’s Energy Practice. Havens brings more than thirty years of transactional experience advising companies in the energy and utility sectors, particularly within the renewable energy field.

“Renewables are the fastest growing energy sector in the market today, and Tom’s deep experience in financing, M&A and project development within this important area will make him an excellent asset to many of our clients,” said Mitchell S. Havens represents both domestic and foreign developers, investors, utilities, lenders and other market participants on a broad array of transactions involving the development, construction, acquisition, sale and financing of solar, wind and other renewable energy projects. In addition to his work in the renewables sector, Havens also advises electric utilities, power generators and lenders in the acquisition and financing of nuclear, coal, and gas-fired generating facilities. In addition, he advises clients on state and federal energy regulatory and policy matters, incentive programs and state renewable portfolio standards.

Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Havens was a partner in the Energy and Utility Law Department at Day Pitney LLP. He earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University and he holds an A.B., cum laude, from Duke University.
