Judith Donnelly Named First Vice President of AIA-NJ

Hackettstown, N.J. Resident is Principal Owner of Donnelly Architecture, LLC

The New Jersey chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NJ) announced that Judith Donnelly, AIA, has been elected as the organization’s 2017 first vice president. The Hackettstown, N.J. resident was formally inducted during AIA-NJ’s annual awards gala at the Sheraton in Mahwah, N.J.

Donnelly is the principal owner of Hackettstown-based Donnelly Architecture, LLC, which works on both residential and commercial projects. She gives back to her community with pro-bono architectural services and she also enjoys mentoring future Architects.

“As Architects, we see the importance of responsible design on a daily basis, and the AIA-NJ organization is tasked with fostering an environment that is supportive of building best practices,” said Donnelly. “In recent years, we’ve been active in areas including storm preparedness and recovery, and I look forward to being a part of the organization’s growth as we continue to work to serve our communities.”

Donnelly, who has been an active member of AIA-NJ for over a decade, previously served as the organization’s second vice president and secretary. She has also been a member of several AIA-NJ committees, and has had numerous leadership roles at the Newark and Suburban Architects local section, including 2010 President. She continues forward in 2017 as their ‘Building Tour Chairperson’.

Donnelly holds a bachelor degreeof fine arts from Kean University and a master’s degreein Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She has also taught AutoCAD and drafting in the Interior Design program of the Berkeley College of Business.
