Seaport Global Securities Continues Expansion of Equity Business

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seaport Global Securities LLC is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its equity team with the addition of two senior research analysts, three promotions to senior analysts, and the addition of nine senior salesmen and sales traders. The firm’s investment into its equity business is a reflection of its continued commitment to important verticals including Energy, Industrials, Chemicals and Shipping.

In Equity Research, Michael Ward has joined Seaport Global as Managing Director and Senior Industrials Analyst, and Josh Sullivanhas joined as Director and Senior Industrials Analyst. Both are based in the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Ward has over 30 years of investment experience following the Auto and Auto Parts sectors at bulge-bracket brokerage firms and independent research boutiques. He was most recently Managing Director and Senior Analyst at Sterne Agee CRT. Previously, Mr. Ward worked for Kidder, Peabody & Company, PaineWebber, and SalomonSmithBarney, and was founder of Ward Transportation Research. He has been a seven-time member of the Institutional Investor All-American Research team and a five-time Wall Street Journal All-Star.

Mr. Sullivan brings over 10 years of experience, primarily focused on covering Engineered Materials, Industrial Technology and Aerospace & Defense sectors. Prior to joining Seaport Global, he was at Sterne Agee CRT for five years. He previously spent three years at Gleacher and Company covering Aerospace & Defense, and three years at American Technology Research.

In addition to new hires in equity research, the firm has promoted three to senior analyst. Matt Sorenson was promoted to Senior Vice President and Senior E&P Analyst, and Stephane Aka and John Aschenbeck were each promoted to Vice President and Senior E&P Analyst. Under the leadership of Mike Kelly, Head of E&P Research, the E&P research team maintains coverage of over 50 Exploration & Production companies.

In Sales & Trading, the firm added nine equity senior salesmen and sales traders in the last six months, expanding its coverage of US institutional accounts. Bill Cleary, Dave Johnson, Bill Kremer, Konrad Krill and Howard Sudnow joined as senior salesmen while Roberto Friedlander, Joe Grieco, Mark Moore and Brent Price joined as sales traders.

The firm announced in March that Scott Lynch, former Credit Suisse Group AG Head of Equity Sales & Trading, joined as Head of Institutional Equity Trading & Co-Head of Institutional Equity Sales, partnering with Tim Arthurs who was promoted to Co-Head of Institutional Equity Sales. Under their leadership, the team continues to strengthen its institutional distribution.
