NEW YORK -- Group dating site Ignighter Inc has raised $1.8 million of a targeted $2.4 million from six investors.
CEO and co-founder Adam Sachs, COO and co-founder Dan Osit are named in the related SEC filing, along with Alfred Levitt, President and General Counsel at Hugo Enterprises LLC , Washington, D.C.; Sean Marsh, co-founder and General Partner of Prividence, R.I.-based Point Judith Capital; and Somak Chattopadhyay of Tribeca Venture Partners.
Before Ignighter, Sachs studied Radio/TV/Film at Northwestern University and worked at Sony Pictures Television. Osit, also a Northwestern grad, was a trader at Glenpoint Capital Partners.
Previously, the company raised $2.7 million of a $3.1 million offering from 25 investors, as reported by citybizlist.
Ignighter is a privately funded startup based in Union Square, New York City. The idea for an online dating service came out of a real need the founders felt in their everyday lives to meet new people in a more fun, less awkward environment. Ignighter launched in NYC in August of 2008 and includes users in 28 countries.
