BROOKLYN -- Recovery Media, LLC, led by former editor of Radar and deputy editor of New York Magazine Maer Roshan, raised $2.4 million in equity financing.

Recovery is evidently the parent company of TheFix.com, a website devoted to addiction started by Roshan in April of 2011 along with Allison Floam, the co-founder of MicroDialogue.

Roshan, after several years on the sidelines, launched The Fix, with contributors like Attack of the Show sexpert Anna David, pharmaceutical writer Walter Armstrong, recovery specialists Joe Schrank and Susan Cheever.

Floam, a former staffer at Morgan Stanley, started MicroDialogue, a social media site using statistical research to provide recommendations for advertising agencies, publishers, portal sites, and brands. She also founded and led SunSak LLC, a retail company.

Roshan and Floam are named in the related SEC filing, along with director Paul Allen McCulley, a former managing director at PIMCO and regular commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg Television.

Brooklyn-based Recovery Media raised $500,000 in December of 2010.
